Microsoft Math is a set of tools designed to help students to get their math homework done more quickly. It can quickly evaluate solve and graphic equations. Microsoft Match can also be used to evaluate ordinary numeric expressions. The screen is a friendly Microsoft's style environment. The program shows the user a scientific calculator with the most common buttons used. As the student learn more mathematics, can expand the calculator's keyboard and take advantage of other capabilities. The right side of the panel shows a large stack of data and answers, which are stored for further use, this is very helpfull solving calculous or linear algebra problems. Microsoft Math has many step by step solutions that not only show the answer, but also, explain how to find the answer to those problems. The usage is really simple, if you are familliar with math and calculous. In the example shown in the screen shot, you can see how I introduced a simple equation, then I expanded, differientiated, integrated and at last ploted it. All of that in less than 10 secconds. If I'm allowed to say it: WOW! My HP 48GX would have taken more than 5 minutes in doing all of that. The seccond screenshot shows how to work with powers and exponents and explains which are the rules to factorize in order to simplify expressions. The steps that explain the procedure are really clear crystal. On the third screenshot I've drawn a 3D equation using Cylindrical coordinates, the result is very nice, since the program plots 3D semi-circle. There are many more graphing and problem solving features in the program, Matrixes and Statistics functions can also be solved with this development from Microsoft. I'm not such a big fan of Microsoft but I think this is a good program I really suggest you to try it.
Advantages:
- Quick, easy and nice interfase, low resource consuming.
Disadvantages:
- Price, It's a shame that it was not developed earlier.
